I can’t believe the time has come and gone! After anticipating my parents’ visit for months. It’s amazing to think that they are leaving my house so soon. We just finished the pastor’s conference this evening.
What a blessing for the 65 pastors and 40 of their wives to come and learn so much from my parents and Pastor Mark! They represented 60 different local churches, at least 8 different tribes, and 5 different provinces of Tanzania! We are praising God for how much He has done through the conference. Some people came from an area near Lake Victoria where we have a couple new church plants. They travelled three days to get here.
Pastor Mark and Dad going over last minute notes before speaking. They found it tough to use simple words. There were always phrases that make so much sense in English but get lost in translation!
Dad using a local brick mold as an example. Pastor Simwanza translated most of his sermons. They kept commenting on how he was such a real teacher!
Pastor Mark and his translator, Pastor Fraison, teaching a class just for the men. What a joy for everyone to see Mark’s enthusiasm.
I was Mom’s translator when the women went to their own session each afternoon. They are already talking about how much excitement there was in the classroom with her!
There was an extra special service at the end of the conference. Dad and Mark were able to bless these pastors and their wives as they received licenses to perform wedding ceremonies. This is the fruit of the work of the Youth Department here.
We got a family picture after all was said and done!
