Tuning up for the Worship Seminar

Praise the Lord for how He answers prayers. I began praying more than a year ago for a team to come and help lead a worship seminar this summer.  God answered my prayers!  The first part of the team leaves on Saturday and the rest follow a few days later.  I’m excited to be working with the Worship Dept. of Grace Bible College.  They will be able to teach our students so much and I’m sure that I too will learn things too.  For months there has been tons of e-mails back and forth with team members preparing lesson plans and schedules.  When they finally arrive it will seem like so much of the work is already finished.

We have been slowly prepping on our end for this seminar.   Whether it is to send letters, to organize cooks and other national staff or to buy supplies bit by bit so that there isn’t a huge shopping list the last day.  There is that constant thought in the back of my mind that I’m forgetting something, but God always provides.

Today I had some local musicians come and help test my equipment.  My amplifier had problems last time we used it so I figured it would be time to look at it and find parts or repair it before things get too hectic.  I’m thankful for these guys coming and helping out.   When they first came, they plugged in the machine and it worked well. I was shocked! I began to think that maybe it was all my imagination that the machine needed to be fixed.  We began testing microphones and wires to see which needed work or were broken. Suddenly the machine quit.

SAM_3626“Ahhh, at least I’m not crazy!” I thought.  They found the problem easily and began fixing it.  At the end of the day I have a working amp and a small bag of wires and mics that are no longer working but will be good for spare parts in the future.  SAM_3623

I thought you’d get a kick out of a “local” soldering gun.  An old flat head screw driver jammed into an old corn cob and heated on the fire!  It worked well enough for the small problem that it was needed for!
