If you think about it, Easter is the most important celebration for the Church.
“ And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty… If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.” 1 Corinthians 15:14, 19
You can see the church of the village of Mtatezi in the background and their choir, in the yellow shirts, on deck to sing next.
In Tanzania the Body of Christ celebrates all weekend. They try to get together with other churches from nearby villages for a conference. They walk or ride bikes on Thursday and get to the host village in time for an evening service. Then Friday through Sunday they gather for 3 big outdoor services a day.
Pastor Juma Kapufi preaches Easter Sunday morning service about Reconciliation.
Each church plans for the event and prepares choirs, new songs (written by their own members), and money and corn and beans for food for all that attend from their church.
It is a great time of fellowship and renewed friendships along with great preaching. They cannot imagine celebrating the victory of our Lord any other way!
