Just a taste of what keeps us busy in the US. It looks like all fun and games, but we actually speak and visit a lot of churches in a short amount of time.
When there is a break between scheduled services and visiting we enjoy seeing God's creation. He really made some amazing places for us to see.
First stop of 2010
Homer, AK
I had a wonderful time speaking in 2 churches and a Bible Institute along
with keeping up with my 75 year young grandparents.
The beautiful mountains rising up from 0 ft of elevation in the Katchemak Bay. What a great backdrop to our snowmobiling rides! In the hills the snow was 3-5 feet deep!
Next stop --- Pheonix, AZ here I took part in a mission conference and was able to tour the Sedona area.
This ruin is known as Montezuma's Castle. It dates back before Columbus came to the continent! It's amazing how much of it is still the original building materials.
This was a smaller ruin but still very much in condition.
I love these formations. The one on the right reminds me of a statue I've seen of a Jazz singer.
The Bible talks about the Rocks praising the Lord!
I also got to see my Uncle and Aunt and family.
We visited a park called Out of Africa. Lots of cats from several continents and also other animals.
We fed giraffes and watched the park team feed the predators. It was fun to see them all so close although many were hard to take pictures of through chain link fences.
Stop #3
LA region of California. This is my first visit to CA. I was fun to join fellow missionaries in a trip to Disneyland. We also had to check out the California beaches which we've heard about for so many years.
-------For all the Kids, here are many of the characters that we met!------
I have always loved the Ocean. To hear the waves crashing on the shore reminds me of My Creator and brings a song to my heart.
We went to Huntington Beach and Laguna Beach. It was fun to watch the surfers (although it wasn't a great day for surfing).
You always have to get your feet wet!
We went to see God's creation, and yet we left no mark. The footprints and sandcastles only last until the next tide. But in our hearts we are blessed by the Artist Who made it all.
Stop #4 Denver, CO
I was blessed to visit with my 95 year old Grandmother. My mom flew out for a couple days to see her mom. We also got together with my Aunt Janice and Uncle Chuck and Aunt Jan.
Grandma, Me, and Mom
Grandma and Janice
I'm back in Ohio now! Next stop... Michigan :)
