This is a brief glance at my family as we gathered together for a little more than a week over Christmas.
One of the highlights -- an impromptu reenactment of the REAL Christmas story in the evening, Christmas Day. My dad (Grandpa) read from Luke and Matthew as most of us pulled out old costumes that Mom (Grandma) had stored from a previous Christmas play. My brother, Joel and his wife, Cynetta, had the roles of Mary and Joseph because in real-life they are expecting! They're one year old came into the scene wanting his mom right about the time Grandpa read about the birth! My other brother, Jes, played King Herod as the wisemen, my other brother Justin and my nephew Caleb, came to ask where Jesus was born. My niece, Kariece, was the angel who announce the birth to the shepherds, my nephews Noah and Josh, and then later she told Joseph to flee to Egypt. I was supposed to be the Innkeeper, but according to the Luke reading, they don't mention the inn until after the baby is born! So I was the official star holder!
A great way to remember the Christmas story, I'd recommend it to anyone.
A couple days before Christmas we also went carolling to several of the Senior citizens in my Dad's church. We were thankful that most of them invited us in on that cold night. This picture is of two of my brothers, Jes and Joel, leading us.
The kids got to see inside of a cockpit at Uncle Joel's work! (He's an airplane mechanic for a commercial airline.)
As is true to custom, we had lots of yummy meals together!
We had lots of fun in the evenings playing games! One night Justin and I set up a mess of yarn for everyone to work through. Each person had their own string to follow. It meant crawling and climbing for a bit!
After Christmas we all went to the science museum in Columbus (COSI). One of the fun things for the adults to do was this unicycle ride! Actually most of the things were fun for adults and kids!
Lifting up a full-sized car!
Three generations playing with cool, video effects!
