Youth Conference, Katazi 2015

We thank the Lord for young people who traveled from more than 10 churches to the village of Katazi.  Many of them travelled by foot and bicycle others jammed into public transportation.  That doesn’t include the local church members and neighbors who joined us.

We had a great conference, teaching about Love. Marriage and True Love Waits classes were the morning scheduled  along with a kids class. In the late afternoon and night, we held outdoor preaching for hundreds.  The pastors preached on God’s Love, Loving our Neighbors and our Enemies, Not being separated from God’s Love, etc…

We praise the Lord for more than 30 who came to Christ.  One of them was an elder in a local church who realized for the first time that He had never accepted Christ himself as his Savior.

I am thankful for all the musicians from various churches that worked together to help with the music in each of our services.  When you have to set up and take down things each night it is a lot of work.  We praise God for so many who willingly helped to carry heavy speakers, and start generators and hook up lights each day.  I enjoy seeing these guys time and time again in camps and seminars and weddings.

Most everyone registered and their names were entered into the “Container of Grace” where each day we pulled out several names and gave away gifts. It was fun to see everyone on their toes as we began pulling names out.  We even had several of the local church elders sign up and some of t!hem won! That sure spurred more people to register!

So many were thankful for such great teaching and the opportunity to gather and fellowship with fellow saints.  We had several late nights and finished up around 1:00 am Saturday morning.  By 5:00 am many of the kids were on their way back home by bike, foot , and car.  We had the car packed and all our good-byes said by 8:30 am and began our trek home.  I could barely keep my eyes open this afternoon.
