National Church Conference 2010

Last weekend we had a National Conference for all of our churches in the village of Ikozi. Not all attended but at least 20 churches were represented. That meant 28 choirs to fill into the service schedules and several hundred in attendance. It is always fun to see former campers and counselors at events like this. Some churches walked 1-2 days to get to the conference. Others pitched in to rent truck where they packed in the back! One church from several hours away came with 70 members!

It was a great time of healing for many as we went through a nasty split last year and many were hearing lies that the church was dying or had closed. The main emphasis during the afternoon and evening sessions was to share the Gospel. With the sound reaching most of the village thanks to modern technology like microphones and speakers, many came to accept Christ as their personal Saviour. I've never hear the exact count but this picture shows the hands raised of at least 30 that came forward in the Saturday afternoon service. Praise the Lord for so many souls saved and many more who rededicated their lives to the Lord.

My job was to teach a morning class to the teen girls. I would say there were at least 70 in the class. It was great to teach about sexual purity and making right choices.
