minutes from my home in Mumba and 20 minutes from the town of
Sumbawanga. We were able to sleep at home each night and drive to camp
(very nice bonus when you think about real showers and some
breakfast!). It was the coldest week because they are at almost the
same elevation as we are in Mumba -- nearly 7,000 feet. That makes it
pretty cold in the month of June for us who live south of the equator.
The evenings would get down to at least 50 F. In a building without
insulation which the wind blowing through cracks in the doors and
windows, we were layered up!
