This past weekend we were in the village of Tatanda. It is where the first evangelical church was started in the Rukwa Region of Tanzania more than 50 years ago. The church was dedicating a new building (which was really an old missionary home converted) and hosting a large conference.
What a blessing to be with the Moyers, who lived there for so many years and helped to establish the Grace church here in Tanzania. It was so much to hear them tell stories of various people, places, and events that had been there. I pray that I have such a great testimony when I am in my 70's.
We were able to climb a tall peak, Mbaa, using low 4WD and overlook the area. How amazing to see other villages miles away and to be able to say, " I've been there for camp, there for a wedding, etc..."
I was teaching morning classes for the girls and hanging out with the choirs. I was encouraged to see that some of them had started to put into practice things they had learned in the Worship Seminar (like minor chords!).
Although for four nights in a row the services went well past midnight, we had a great time. This week is a time to rest up and get ready for more weddings and events.
